Installation Information
Thank you for choosing ViewLux Windows and Doors ™ for your project! Installation of windows and patio doors is not a recommended DIY (do-it-yourself) project. Please consider retaining a professionally licensed contractor to install ViewLux Windows and Doors ™ Below are some common topics related to installation information that may be helpful for your project.

Core Installation Standards
ViewLux Windows and Doors ™ Windows must be installed level, plumb, square and weather-tight in their opening following AAMA-2400-20 (new construction applications) or AAMA-2410-13 (replacement applications).
Before Install
1. Store in shaded area on flat base. Do not lean against a corner.
2. Do not lift by frame only.
3. Protect the Window seal from traffic and damage. Provide FULL support under door seal.
4. Fully inspect product(s) prior to installation. Do not install nonconforming or damaged products.
During Install
1. Close and lock window and door sliding panels.
2. Install level, plumb and square with up to a 1/4” clearance on all window sides and up to a 1/4” clearance on jambs and header of the door.
3. Fasteners must be made of corrosion resistant materials and compatible with the material they will penetrate.
4. If insulation foam is needed, it must be the low expansion type that meets AAMA 812 Voluntary Practice for Assessment of Single Component Aerosol Expanding Polyurethane Foams for Sealing Rough Openings of Fenestration Installations.
Safety & Handling
1. Professional Recommendation: Window and door installation is not a recommended do-it-yourself project. Please consider retaining a professionally licensed (where required) contractor to install your new ViewLux windows and doors.
2. Instructions: Read and fully understand ALL manufacturer’s instructions prior to beginning the installation. Failure to follow proper installation instructions may result in the denial of warranty claims for operational and performance problems.
3. Elevated Heights: Use caution when working at elevated heights including but not limited to ladders and scaffolding.
4. Responsibility: It is the responsibility of whoever installs these products to consult and establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to commencing installation.
5. Lifting: Do not work alone and use safe lifting techniques. Two or more people may be required to lift. Use a reasonable amount of people with enough strength to lift, carry and install to avoid injury and/or damage to the products.
6. Glass Caution: Use caution when handling glass. Broken or cracked glass can cause serious injury.
7. PPE: Wear protective gear (safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, etc.)
8. Tools: Operate hand and power tools safely and follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions.
IMPORTANT: Improper installation is the greatest cause of malfunction for windows and doors. Damage or defects caused by improper installation, storage, handling or maintenance are not covered by the ViewLux Windows and Doors™ Warranty.
